This qualification looks at Equality and Diversity in the community, the workplace, and society. Reflect on your own multiple identities and look closer at the diverse tapestry around us. Learn the impact of the Equality Act and what the protected characteristics are. An interesting thoughtful qualification and a welcomed addition to any CV.

On average the course takes 14 weeks to complete. The time frame depends on the time you have available and your prior knowledge.

The qualification is made up of the following 3 units:
Equality in the Workplace
Equality in the Community
Equality in Society

After enrolment, you are given 3 weeks for each submission, but if you require longer please contact the Distance Learning Team and they will happily agree an extension with you. If you have chosen to complete the course online you will receive a welcome email from Equal, our online learning platform. On there you will see a guidance video explaining how the platform works and you will find your initial submission dates there too.

If you have chosen to receive a paper pack these will be sent out to you once you have completed the online enrolment. Your pack will contain a guidance sheet and your submission dates along with information on how to submit your work.

This is a distance learning course, meaning all work is completed from home. You do not attend any classes. However, this doesn't mean you can't access support. We have a team of dedicated tutors available to provide any support you might need along the way.

You must be over 19.

During the application process, you are asked the following: Please describe why you have chosen this course and what you hope to gain from completing it. Please include anything you already know regarding the subject. This helps us check this is the right course at the right level for you. We also need to confirm that you haven't completed the qualification, or similar, before. This is for funding purposes.

We ask for a description, for this you must write in full sentences, we would expect around 2 paragraphs.

If you do not meet the required standard, we will give you a second opportunity to answer the question. If the required standard is still not met, we will sign post you to our careers team for advice and guidance.

If you are not a British Citizen, you may have to complete a Right to Study Assessment, or provide a Share Code, to ensure you qualify for government funding. We cannot fund you if you live in a Devolved Area.

We are unable to grant extensions on Unit 1, please only apply to do this course if you are ready to start it now and have time available.

Annual Tuition fee: £0

The level 2 distance learning courses are fully funded. If you are not a British Citizen you may need to complete a Fee Assessment to check funding eligibility.

Please note that, upon successful completion of your course, you will receive an e-certificate by email. Printed certificates are not provided as standard. Awarding organisations have moved away from issuing physical certificates to support environmental sustainability, reduce their carbon footprint, and make it easier to obtain a replacement certificate if required.
If you would like a printed certificate, this can be requested at a cost of £46, payable by the learner.

We have a huge choice of distance learning courses available at both level 2 and 3. At the end of your course, your tutor may suggest a suitable option for you or you can contact the Distance Learning team to advise you on the courses available. We also have a careers team available via phone, email, or in person who can help to plan a career pathway for you.
