This course is for students whose first language is not English. You will study reading, writing or speaking and listening at either Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 or Level 2. This course is available at various times of the week including evenings and Saturday mornings. Most students take an accredited exam at the end of the course.
This course follows the Adult ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Skills for Life Curriculum, helping students to operate and achieve or work towards a Reading, Writing and/or Speaking and Listening qualification at national ESOL standards. You will learn how to improve your English language skills using various techniques. This course is part-time so it can fit around your current learning or personal commitments.
There are no formal entry requirements. You will be able to apply online. You may also have an initial assessment interview to find out what language level is best for you. You may need to have a Right to Study and Funding assessment to check that you have the right to study in the UK.
Most students work towards and take an accredited exam at the end of the course at either Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 or Level 2.
Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to come into College if required, for a language assessment and/or a Right to Study and Funding assessment. At your language assessment, the tutor will discuss the classes available and negotiate a suitable timetable.
