This qualification is a two-year, full-time study programme; it is an in-depth study of the health and social care sector. It supports progression to health and social care related degrees, work or a higher apprenticeship. You will have the opportunity to complete 100 hours of placement over the 2 years which will be related to your chosen career pathway. The course is equivariant to three A Levels.
In the first year will cover subjects such as Human lifespan development, working in the health care sector, anatomy and physiology, meeting individual care needs. You will explore the needs of service users and the role that you will play in supporting their needs a professional. You will complete 50 hours of placement during this year.
In year 2 you will continue exploring the needs of the individual in a variety of setting with complex needs. Units such as mental health and wellbeing, supporting those with individual needs and working with individual with dementia is a sample if the units you will study. You will complete at least 50 hours of placement during this year.
You will require 5 GCSE's at 4 and above one must be English Language.
You will be assessed through assignment work with 4 exams. 2 in the first year and 2 in the second year.

You will need details of your qualifications, a reference, and a personal statement to complete your application. Once your application has been successfully processed, you will be sent a conditional offer and be invited to a Welcome Event at the College to meet your tutors, learn more about your chosen course of study and tour the facilities. You will then need to confirm your acceptance of the course offered to you.
