Course Overview
This course is for adults whose first language is not English and is available at all ESOL venues. This qualification is available at Entry 3. During this qualification you will learn how to use devices and handling information, creating and editing, communicating, transacting, and online safety.
The course runs termly and you can join at any point in the term.
What You'll Learn
Year 1
You will learn how to use various digital devices and create a variety of documents using different applications and software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and e-communications. The course will help you to stay safe while using online sites and services including banking, ticket booking, online shopping, and paying bills.
Entry Requirements
Students would need an Entry 2 ESOL or similar qualification for Entry 3 EDSQ. If you do not meet this entry criteria, you will be enrolled on a non-accredited ICT module.
How you will be assessed
You will take an assessment set by the Gateway awarding organisation. Students enrolling on a non-accredited module will complete an internal assessment.

Course and Career progression
This course is aimed at supporting students who want to improve their IT skills for life, work, and further study. You will be able to progress to level 1 EDSQ or for another ICT qualification. Your tutor will be able to advise you on progression. Careers Information, advice, and guidance are also available at Leicester College.
