The course takes place at our St Margaret’s Campus and runs each Monday 12:30 – 15:00 for 9 weeks. If you have ever wanted to restore or up-cycle a piece of small furniture, come and join this creative workshop. You will need to bring your own piece of small furniture to work on as your project. You will be able to purchase some extra materials through the college.
What You'll Learn
You will learn useful upholstery skills and techniques by transforming an existing piece of small furniture from your home. Footstools, blanket boxes and dining room chair seats are all ideal pieces to up-cycle.
You will be guided through every step of the process but please be aware, you will have to transport your piece of furniture to college at the start, and then from college once the course has ended.
You must be aged 19+ and be able to complete a short workbook on a weekly basis with the help of your tutor.
How you will be assessed
At the start of your course you will decide with your tutor what your project will be. There are no formal assessments, exams or coursework. Your tutor will informally assess your progress each week.
Tuition Fees (19+): £90.00
The cost of the course is £90.00. However you will not be required to pay a fee for this course if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:
