Course Overview
This qualification has been designed to provide students with the knowledge and understanding required to understand how social media is used in a business environment.
By looking at the principles of social media within a business, students will understand the benefits of social media as part of a marketing strategy and the use of social media in product placement and marketing.
Students should be working at level 2 as a minimum.

Entry Requirements
You will need GCSEs at grade 4/C or above which should include English or maths. You will also need to provide one academic reference from your most recent place of education.
How you will be assessed
You will be assessed through a combination of exams, coursework and presentations.

Course and Career progression
On successful completion, students may progress onto qualifications in related subjects at the same or a higher level, including the Open College Network West Midlands level 3 Award or Certificate in the Principles of Marketing.
Alternatively, you may choose to progress directly into employment or an apprenticeship or even start your own business. You will also gain transferable knowledge, understanding, and skills that give you an advantage in applying for a range of other courses available at Leicester College.
What Happens Next
Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to come into College if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.
For enrol and pay courses: Once you have decided to take the course, you need to fill in a short student details form online and pay the course fee. Once you have done this, you will receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment and payment.
