This level 3 course is ideal if you wish to develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of autism, which could then support your progression into employment in the health and social care or education sector.
Autism affects people of all ages and while it is incurable, the right support at the right time can make an enormous difference to people’s lives.
Whether you are looking to progress your career or have a family member, friend or colleague with autism, this qualification will provide you with a full spectrum understanding no matter where you decide to go to next.
What You'll Learn
Year 1
The course is made up of the following units:
1. Autism in context
2. Positive behavioural support for individuals for autism
3. Understanding support and management of transitions for individuals with autism
4. Therapeutic interventions and support for individuals with autism and co-occurring conditions
5. Communication and social interaction with individuals with autism
6. Safeguarding and resilience in autism
How you will be assessed
This is a distance learning course available fully online. You will be supplied with learning materials, a personal tutor who you can contact by phone or email, and access to our learning platform to submit your answers. You will be given feedback on each submission and support with any resubmissions required.
There are no observations and no exams.
