Team Leader Advanced Apprenticeship – P0201

The team leader/supervisor apprenticeship is for someone who can take responsibility for managing a team or a discrete project. They can support, manage and develop team members, manage projects, plan and monitor workloads and resources. They can take responsibility for delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships. It is applicable to professional team leaders, first-line managers and supervisors from all sectors – the private, public or third sector – and all sizes of organisations. An apprenticeship is a job with training. You will be employed at least 30 hours a week, with 80% of your working hours in your day-to-day role, and the remaining 20% of your time engaged in training or study.

Year 1

The level 3 apprenticeship program will require you to develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours in a professional environment and achieve a series of standards to prove your competence in leading people, building relationships, communication, operational management, project management and finance.
You will also start to gain evidence for your e-portfolio.

Year 2

Develop a range of essential management skills applied and refined in a real working environment. Build the leadership capability to motivate teams and influence with confidence. Gain a broad understanding of key management and leadership theory to underpin and support growth and performance.

Before taking their end-point assessment, apprentices must achieve level 2 English and maths (equivalent to GCSEs at grades A* to C). We have an extensive support package available, including college attendance to functional skills classes and an online teaching and learning platform, which guides students from an initial and a diagnostic assessment, through to being exam ready.

On-programme is the learning phase for apprentices to pick up the skills, knowledge and behaviours set in each standard. Apprentices need to complete 20% off-the-job training during the on-programme phase of their apprenticeship. You can track and monitor the 20% through our e-portfolio. On program assessment includes:
• regular assessment (involving employer and training provider)
• development of a portfolio demonstrating learning and development activities with their application in the workplace.
• successful completion of management diploma level 3
End Point Assessment
End-point assessment (EPA) is the final stage that an apprentice goes through to complete their apprenticeship. The apprentice must show their learning to an independent end-point assessor and the grades available are distinction, pass or fail. The EPA consists of:
• test of knowledge using scenarios with questions
• competency-based interview
• assessment of a portfolio of evidence
• professional discussion relating to CPD activity.

Successful students can progress to a range of qualifications, including Operational/Departmental Apprenticeship, and Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship. Apprentices will be trained within the context of your organisation, meaning apprentices contribute to business productivity while developing their own skills.
