Aimed at teaching in the post-compulsory sector, this level 6 Graduate Diploma will give you the chance to reflect on your innovative practice and develop your critical thinking skills. We welcome students from a range of contexts within the Education and Training sector. These contexts include colleges, universities, training centres, academies, and private institutions, among others. As students in the HE in the FE sector, they will be expected to take responsibility for their learning and develop critical, analytical, and evaluative skills. This intensive course offers you the opportunity to gain a level 6 qualification in one year, which you may need to progress in your career or study at the postgraduate level.
There are six mandatory modules that reflect current issues pertaining to this sector: Reflective teaching Special educational needs and inclusive education Digital teaching and learning Perspectives on educational policy Curriculum design Classroom management and promotion of personal responsibility Action research You will be expected to be working in a teaching position and to be able to link theory effectively to your own practice. There will be a strong focus on reflecting on one’s own practice and developing skills in digital literacy/e-learning.
To enrol on to this course you will need a level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (Certificate of Education), level 2 in maths and English (GCSE or functional skills) or IELTS Score 6.5. You must also be in a teaching role for the duration of the course (minimum of 100 teaching hours per year).
You will be assessed via various assessment methods including written essays and reports, online presentations, microteaching sessions, and case studies.
