Course Overview
This seven-week course is suitable for beginners and those with some drawing experience.
Each week we will work with different themes/materials including charcoal, ink, pencil, paint and pastel.
Using a range of different mark making techniques creating form, texture and depth both abstract and realistic in response to still life. This will help you develop an understanding of a range of methods which will equip you with the knowledge and experience you need to develop your drawings further.
What You'll Learn
Year 1
During this seven week course, you will learn:
– how to work with a range of drawing materials including charcoal, ink, pencil and pastels.
– mark making techniques and will gain the ability to implement shading and texture to your work.
– observational drawing skills employing still life.
– develop a broader understanding of ‘drawing’ to perceive that this is not merely pencil work.
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements, just an interest in the subject.
How you will be assessed
There are no formal assessments but the tutor will provide ongiuong feedback.

What Happens Next
Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.
