This is a supported online and classroom-based course, which is offered year-round (50 weeks of the year including non-term times).
This accredited qualification is ideal for anyone (19+) who wants to learn the basics of SAGE accounting systems. It enables you to achieve vocationally focused skills and knowledge related to the computerised accounting process. Successful students will gain the nationally recognised qualification Sage Certificate in Computerised Accounting for Business level 1. It is particularly suitable for anyone who wants to gain employment in a number of roles, including bookkeeper, purchase ledger clerk, payroll administrator or credit controller.
The course includes a free Sage book.
What You'll Learn
During this supported online course, you will take part in a variety of different learning activities, discussion, research and watching short tutorial videos where you will be able to:
1) deal with customers and suppliers
2) add new accounts to sales, purchase and nominal ledgers
3) process data, bank transactions, invoices and credit notes accurately
4) produce management reports.
Level 1 literacy skills
Good all round IT skills is an essential requirement
Have access to the internet and a lap top or PC.

How you will be assessed
You will complete a variety of short practical and theoretical tasks that will be formally assessed by the tutor to support you in creating a portfolio of evidence and also online exams.
Tuition Fees (19+): £135.00
Fee concessions: You will not be required to pay a fee for this course if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits: Universal Credit, JSA or ESA (Employment and Support Allowance Work-Related Action Group) or low waged.
Evidence of benefits will be required on the application.
If you are not in receipt of the benefits mentioned above, then the course fee is currently £90.00.

Course and Career progression
On completion of this qualification, your tutor will be able to provide advice and guidance on other programmes. These might include CV writing, interview skills, Sage level 2, Customer Service level 1 or 2 and other short vocational programmes. This qualification will support you to gain employment by improving their confidence by gaining new skills and qualifications. What Happens Next
Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.
For enrol and pay courses: Once you have decided to take the course, you need to fill in a short learner details form online and pay the course fee. Once you have done this, you will receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment and payment.
