Course Overview

Work towards learning a new skill or enhance an existing skill on our return to learn course. You will take part in various activities such as textiles, cooking and games and social interaction which will help your communication skills and you will gain new experiences in a practical environment. This course is the perfect opportunity to work as a group to learn together.

What You'll Learn

Year 1

You will learn how to complete various activities both working singularly and working as a team. You will be given training and support to successfully complete tasks and to enhance your own self confidence, communication skills and life experience skills. You will be supported by the lecturer throughout the course.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements.
You will take part in an interview to discuss your individual needs and the suitability of the course.

How you will be assessed

There are no formal assessment processes. Learners are given regular opportunities to reflect upon their own progress and have regular contact with their lecturer throughout the short course.

Course and Career progression

At the end of the course, you may want to progress onto one of our further education, vocational or part-time courses. The experience will be valuable when interacting with others outside of the small group or for volunteering opportunities. You will increase your ability to form positive relationships and reflect on your own support needs.

What Happens Next

Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview, then you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol upon your chosen course of study.You will also be able to meet your tutors, learn more about your chosen course of study and tour the facilities. You will then need to confirm your acceptance of the course offered to you.
