Course Overview
This exciting 7-week course aims to introduce and advance people’s skills in the use and understanding of relief and intaglio printmaking. You will be encouraged to explore a range of imagery and materials whilst developing your technical and artistic skills.
Alongside this, you will be instructed in the use and set up techniques and machinery, as well as improving your practical skills, which can be further utilised in more advanced work.
What You'll Learn
Year 1
Throughout the seven-week programme, you will be instructed in various aspects of relief and intaglio printmaking.
These will include:
Lino cutting
Monotypes
Relief printing using glass and Perspex plates
Intaglio printing using Perspex plates
Health and Safety in Printmaking workshop
The effects had by a variety of relief and intaglio printmakiing techniques will be considered when developing final imagery.
Entry Requirements
No previous experience is necessary, just an interest in the subject.
How you will be assessed
There are no assessments or exams. Your tutor will support and guide you through the course and help you develop your skills through one to one feedback.

Course and Career progression
This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to progress onto other areas of practical crafts. You will have opportunities to progress onto the Intermediate and then Advanced courses, or you may wish to take your experience forward into designing and producing your own work at home, utilising the skills you have developed

Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.
