The National Association of Paralegal Practice (NALP) course is a qualification for paralegals. This course is perfect for those looking to become a paralegal and those with some paralegal experience who are looking to progress their career in the legal sector and within a variety of other sectors. The NALP qualification gives students a good grounding in law. There is an expectation that prospective students are working in the legal field, but this is not imperative. The course will be taught one day per week for one year with the opportunity of proceeding into the second year to complete the Diploma. Four units are studied in the first year and a further five if you proceed into the second year to complete the Diploma. Workbooks are provided for students by NALP
What You'll Learn
The following units will be taught in the first year:
– Introduction to Law for Paralegals (Mandatory module)
– Legal Ethics and Responsibilities for Paralegals (Mandatory module)
– Employment Practice for Paralegals
– Consumer Rights and Remedies for Paralegals
Completion of the first year will give you access to the second year to study for the full diploma
It is recommended that you have five GCSEs including English and maths at Grade 4 (C) or above. Adults with equivalent experience or qualifications will also be accepted.
How you will be assessed
The course is 100% coursework that is externally marked.
