Our Launch Pad programme is designed to help support young people gain the qualifications and skills they need to progress onto the next phase of their education.
The course takes place over 2 days a week, alongside 4 hours per week of home study.
Whilst with us you will work towards achieving your Functionals Skills in Maths and English. We cover all entry levels and up to level 2. Alongside this you will work towards gaining a Certificate in Employability and a Certificate in Creative Industries.
What You'll Learn
The Certificate in Employability covers everything from interview skills to enterprise, and ensures your digital skills are up to speed and ready for the world of work.
The Certificate in Creative Industries focuses on music technology; looking at music sequencing and production techniques along with how the music industry works.
Group size is 16 and you will have a designated keyworker who will look after your pastoral needs. Careers and applications for the next course are also covered and we offer taster sessions in a variety of technical areas across the College to help you decide what’s next and set those all-important goals.
You will need to pass an interview and demonstrate why you feel Launch Pad is the right course for you.
How you will be assessed
There are exams for Functional Skills maths and English. The Certificate in Employability and the Certificate in Creative Industries are both portfolio-based, you will spend the year gathering evidence for both qualifications.
Tuition Fees (16-18): £0.00
If the course is longer than one year the total fees are for the first year only and further fees may apply in future years. All fees are based on a ‘home’ learner status. Please contact us for information on overseas fees.
