Course Overview

This is an online course available for individuals that are aged 19 or over. This eight-day course is designed to support individuals on the new Government Kick Start programme.

The course will support you with the following:
• Support to look for long-term work, including career advice and setting goals
• Support with CV and interview preparations
• Supporting the participant with basic skills, such as attendance, timekeeping and teamwork

What You'll Learn

Year 1

During this course, you will take part in a variety of different learning activities including supported online learning, classroom teaching, discussion and research. You will be able to achieve a range of accredited qualifications, some of these include:
1) Team Motivation and Motivation.
2) Setting Goals for Personal Development.
3) CV and Covering letter.
4) Job Seeking Skills.
5) Preparation for a Recruitment Interview.
6) Personal Presentation at Work.
7) Interview Skills.

Literacy at Entry level 3

How you will be assessed

When attending classroom-based sessions, you will complete a variety of short practical and written tasks that will be formally assessed by your tutor to create a portfolio of written evidence. When completing online qualifications, you will complete short mock tests following completion of the learning for each unit and when you are confident, you will then complete the multiple choice online exam.

You will not be required to pay a fee for this course if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:
Universal Credit
JSA or ESA (Employment and Support Allowance Work-Related Action Group)

Evidence of benefits will be required on the application.

What Happens Next

Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements of the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course.
