Course Overview
This course is designed for students wishing to gain an introduction to the basic skills and principles of electronic circuit construction. The course will introduce students to basic circuit theory, the practical skills of electronic circuit construction, component replacement and the use of basic test equipment and will appeal to a range of people including hobbyists, to those wishing to move into a new career pathway.
What You'll Learn
Year 1
During the six week evening programme students will be introduced to the basic functions and operation of tools and electronic test and measurement equipment, this will include:
Workshop health and safety (a requirement for the safe use of machine tools in a workshop environment)
Basic circuit theory
Soldering and de-soldering skills
Construction techniques for printed circuit boards
The use of measurement and test equipment
Entry Requirements
The course is open to all students over the age of 19 who can demonstrate the ability to complete the course.
