City Skills Centre Course Overview
Successfully complete this course and gain a recognised and valuable level 1 health and safety qualification, which is needed in many roles. The course takes approximately six hours to complete. You can study at your own pace, so you could complete it in one day or over a few days. The course runs throughout the year so there is sure to be a start date to suit you.
What You'll Learn
Year 1
During the course you will learn about the following:
1) Understanding the importance of health and safety procedures
2) Understanding the key rights and responsibilities relating to health and safety
3) An awareness of potential hazards and the conditions that can cause risk
4) Identifying safe practices and using protective equipment.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, however a reasonable level of literacy is expected i.e. you can write and speak to make yourself understood. It would be useful to be able to use a keyboard, although support is available.

How you will be assessed
You will complete short, mock tests at the end of each learning unit. When confident, and following a discussion with your tutor, you will complete a multiple choice online exam.
