This 7-week beginners course considers key concepts of digital collage and introduces selected Adobe PhotoShop basic skills. You will study with an industry specialists. The College has the latest current IT suites and Adobe software for you to successfully learn in a friendly adult environment. Using PhotoShop you will learn how to select objects and use layers. You will also add texture and experiment with colour.

What You'll Learn

Year 1

Through tutor-led practical exercises, you will explore digital collage, finding and choosing source imagery and creating your own compositions. Using PhotoShop you will learn how to select objects and use layers. You will also add texture and experiment with colour.
We will look at historic uses of collage and contemporary digital artists for inspiration. The course ends with you putting your favourite methods into practice in a personal project. This course is suitable for PhotoShop beginners and those with some knowledge looking to extend their creative practice.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, however having some formal knowledge of drawing and visual recording would be advantageous

How you will be assessed

You will be introduced to techniques through group demonstrations and benefit from individual feedback. There is no formal assessment but you will be set personal targets from your tutor.
