This is a funded online course with textbook learning materials provided. This qualification focusses on key counselling skills and gives learners an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to become a counsellor. This qualification could be the first step towards a new career or be used to enhance supervision and support skills.
Completion of this qualification does not mean you are registered counsellor, further training would be required if this is your aim.
What You'll Learn
The qualification consists of the following 4 units:
Introduction to counselling skills theories.
Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills.
Counselling skills and personal development.
Using Counselling skills – to complete this unit you do have to upload a 5-minute video of yourself providing counselling support to a volunteer. Guidance regarding this is provided and the purpose is for self-reflection and for your tutor to see how you use the skills explored.
You will receive robust feedback from your tutor looking at how to further develop your understanding of the topic and progress academically.
It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance
A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 3 or above (D)
Tuition Fees (19+): £0.00
The level 2 distance learning courses are funded which is great news. The only criteria are that you are over 19, have lived in the EU for the past 3 years and currently live in England.
If the course is longer than one year the total fees are for the first year only and further fees may apply in future years. All fees are based on a ‘home’ learner status. Please contact us for information on overseas fees.
For more information, please see our course fee disclaimers page.
