Course Overview
This course is designed as an extension for those who have completed their Higher National Certificate in Construction Management and would like to progress onto the Higher National Diploma and study on a 2-year part-time basis. The course consists of mandatory units in the first year, with optional subject units completed in the second year, covering topics such as project and contract management and alternative energy and construction methods in the second year.
What You'll Learn
Year 1
There are four mandatory subjects areas (all 15 credits) that you will complete in the first year, all of the subjects must be completed to gain the qualification. These are Project Management, Personal Professional Development, Construction Technology for Complex Buildings projects and Advanced Construction Drawing Detailing. You will complete these through assignments, case studies, reports and presentations and group project.
Year 2
Year 2 Group Project, plus three optional modules (all 15 credits) determined by Programme lead due to student demand and expertise to deliver.
Entry Requirements
To gain entry onto this programme you will have already achieved the HNC Construction Management qualification.

Academic progression:
240 credits transferable to BSc Construction Management top up degree (2 years part time) at Leicester College
Credits also recognised at other HE institutions to their discretion.
Career Progression:
This course is suitable for those either just starting their career in construction management or for those already in the construction industry looking to progress further into more management or leadership type roles.
