This classroom-based short course, which runs over 6 days is available at regular times of the year (including non-term times) which will help you develop your self-confidence and self-esteem.
You will build a better understanding of what confidence and self-esteem mean and explore potential reasons for low confidence and self-esteem through discussion in a safe and supportive environment.
In addition, you will learn how you can improve your confidence and self-esteem, helping you feel more positive about your future, whether it is work-related or personal.
This course is particularly suitable if you are returning to work after a period of unemployment and want to improve your confidence or if you find social situations difficult. Successful individuals will gain an accredited Certificate which is useful evidence to show employers that you can be a positive member of the working team.
What You'll Learn
During this course, you will study the following subject areas:
You will learn to work with others towards achieving given objectives and know about your own performance when working in a team.
2) Building confidence and self-esteem.
You will look at what these mean and how to build your confidence and self-esteem.
3) Dealing with problems.
You will look at problems, learn about sources of help in solving problems and be able to select a solution to a problem.
4) Engage in discussion.
You will be able to engage in discussion to reach a shared understanding of a topic.
5) Presenting information about yourself to an employer.
You will learn how to communicate in professional situations and by the end of the course, have the knowledge and skills to be able to present information about yourself to an employer.
There are no formal entry requirements, however, a reasonable level of literacy is expected i.e. you can write and speak to make yourself understood.
How you will be assessed
You will complete a variety of assessment activities that may include discussion and written tasks. These will be formally assessed by your tutor to create a portfolio of written evidence.

You will not be required to pay a fee for this course if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:
Universal Credit, JSA or ESA (Employment and Support Allowance Work Related Action Group) low waged.
Evidence of benefits will be required on the application.

Course and Career progression
On completion of this Certificate, your tutor will be able to provide advice and guidance on other online or distance learning courses, or classroom-based programmes. These might include CV writing, interview skills, customer service skills and other short vocational programmes. This qualification will support you to gain employment by improving your confidence.

What Happens Next
Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements of the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course.
