Do you aspire to work within either the Business or Law industries? If so, our exciting new study programme in business and law will allow you to broaden your knowledge and skills across two related subjects. Not only will you be studying the core elements necessary to succeed in business but you will also incorporate two law units giving you a flavour of what it could be like working in the law industry. The purpose of this course is to allow students to have the opportunity of different progression routes allowing flexibility when applying for jobs or going on to higher education. This is a one-year study programme (six units equivalent to one and a half A levels) with an option upon successful completion of the course to progress onto the National Extended Diploma or our T level programme. You will participate in activities that help you develop your personal skills, such as building your character and confidence. This will help you to live well and move into your chosen career. If you are 16-19 years old these activities will be timetabled as will work experience and placement. You can also choose to take part in other activities.
With the best of both subject areas, you will study units in: The English legal system, Employment law for the law element of the course and the intricacies of Exploring Business, Personal and Business Finance, Developing a Marketing Campaign, Managing an Event for the business element. Recent cohorts have taken part in live projects with local employers thus linking their academic study to the workplace. These units will give you the skills and knowledge to either enter the workplace or progress onto our extended diploma in Business.
Entry onto this course requires five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including English and maths, 90% attendance in your last place of study or work and a reference.
During this course, you will complete a variety of assessment methods which include report writing, exams, PowerPoint presentations, discussions, live projects, and role-play workshops.
