Our exciting new study programme in business and finance will allow you to broaden your knowledge and skills across two related subjects. You will be studying core elements of business and how businesses implement different strategies to succeed and two elements of accounting/finance units will be incorporated to give you an understanding of how finance and accounting works in the business environment. The purpose of this course is to allow you to have the opportunity of different progression routes when applying for jobs or going on to higher education/apprenticeships. This is a one-year study programme (six units equivalent to one and a half A levels) with the option upon successful completion of the course to progress onto the National Extended Diploma (16+) or the AAT Level 3 (part-time) which is for 19+ students.
These are the units that you will be studying on this course: Exploring business Developing a marketing campaign Personal and business finance Managing an event Recording financial transactions Cost and management accounting Students will take part in live projects with local employers, linking their academic study to the workplace. These units will give you the skills and knowledge to either enter the workplace or progress onto our extended diploma in Business and Finance.
Entry onto this course requires five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including English and Maths.
During this course, you will complete a variety of assessment methods which include report writing, exams, PowerPoint presentations, discussions, live projects, and role play.

You will need details of your qualifications and employment history, a reference, and a personal statement to complete your application. Once your application has been successfully processed, you will be sent a conditional offer and be invited to a Welcome Event at the College to meet your tutors, learn more about your chosen course of study and tour the facilities. You will then need to confirm your acceptance of the course offered to you.
