Course Overview
The course is run from City Skills Centre, each Wednesday 12:45pm – 3.15pm for 9 weeks.
This course is ideal for anyone who wants to understand how to care for their skin and use makeup effectively. This varied and fascinating program includes everything from cleansing, tone, and moisturise to how to achieve various looks in makeup application.
The Importance in good skincare before the application of makeup
It is almost impossible to apply a good make-up application without first understanding the basics of good skincare. Therefore, it is important that you know how to take care of your skin and address any issues that you may have; this will ensure that even with a full face of make-up will continue to look great for years to come.
During this course, you will learn the basics of personalised skincare and how to prepare your skin before applying make-up. You will also learn how to complete your own personalised facial routine.
You will also learn how to ensure that make-up applications are designed for your own skin type while considering your own style and preference of application.
What You'll Learn
Year 1
This course focuses on the advantages of daily skincare techniques, the correct product selection for each individual skin type and the most effective methods in their use.
Explore the differences between price and quality of skincare and makeup products on the market today.
We will also look at the various makeup products available and their correct methods of application.
What is the process for designing your own individual makeup prior to its application?
Look at ways in which you can progress the skills you have already learned.
This is a comprehensive approach to skincare and makeup for your own personal use, in which we will focus on the individual needs of the student, and we will also include various beauty tips and tricks of the trade.

There are no entry requirements other than being over 19.
How you will be assessed
There are no assessments, exams or coursework. This is a practical course.

Tuition Fees (16-18): £0.00
Tuition Fees (19+): £90.00
Additional Costs
The cost of the course is £90.00.
However you will not be required to pay a fee for this course if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:
Universal Credit
JSA or ESA (Employment and Support Allowance Work Related Action Group)
There will be no fees if you earn less than £20,319.
