Year 1
Basic BIM Course: Introduction to BIM
• Understand the fundamental concepts, importance, and applications of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
• Familiarise themselves with key BIM software tools, including Revit and ArchiCAD.
• Create simple 3D models using BIM software.
• Understand the principles of collaboration and model sharing within the BIM environment.
• Apply basic BIM techniques to enhance design and construction processes.
Entry Requirements
No prior BIM experience is required, but a basic understanding of construction or design processes is beneficial.
How you will be assessed
Students will be assessed through practical assignments and a final project where they create a simple 3D model using BIM software.
Course Fees
Course and Career progression
Upon completion, students can progress to the Intermediate BIM Course. Career-wise, this course prepares them for entry-level roles such as BIM Technician or Junior BIM Modeller.
The college also provides further full time routes into construction courses including Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND) AND BSc top-up degree in Construction Management.
