10 weeks Course Overview
This part-time course, in collaboration with Leicester Barbering Academy, is designed to teach you key barbering precision cutting skills across a variety of looks. This option is highly recommended if you are looking to kick start your career in barbering or to simply build on your existing skills to progress onto a higher level course.
What You'll Learn
Year 1
Throughout your study, you will build up all of the necessary skills to understand the foundations of Barbering as a profession.
You will learn the art of consultation, allowing you to understand different hair classifications and their characteristics, as well as practical learning with the art of clipper work and a variety of cutting techniques.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
How you will be assessed
The assessment for this 10 week course is a combination of observation, question and answer sessions and an online exam.

Course and Career progression
On completion of the course you can progress onto a full NVQ level 2 qualification, such as the Barbering Technical Certificate. You will build your knowledge in areas such as consultation, wet shaving, shampoo and conditioning, cutting facial hair into shape, styling and a range of cutting techniques to create a variety of hair styles.
