Acting for Beginners

Leicester College has a long tradition of teaching acting, dance, and musical theatre courses with many of its students currently starring in West End shows, touring nationally or on TV. Our professional, industry-standard studios and theatres (along with a bit of help from the tutors) provide outstanding facilities for full and part time learners. This exciting 7 week course, will take place in the Abbey Park Campus Theatre. The course aims to introduce and advance your skills in the understanding of acting. You will be encouraged to explore and develop a range of physical and vocal techniques needed for acting. You will use your imagination and creativity to bring characters to life from scripted or devised pieces. You will develop your confidence and self-esteem allowing you to stand in front of an audience and perform. Even if you are not thinking of a career or role within the 'performing arts industry, this course would be suitable for any professional with a forward-facing role with people. All of the learning would be invaluable for standing in front of people and presenting.
