Our 3 day core gas safety training is a bespoke installation, service and maintenance training and re-cap programme. The engineer at the end of this training will be suitably skilled to undertake a Core Gas Safety Assessment (separate course). Technical and practical skills will be gained during training but the substantive skills will have been gained onsite with a Gas Safe operative.
General core gas safety training and practical skills training, covering installation and maintenance of pipework, boilers, cookers, fires and water heaters. A period of on-the-job experience is required to enable progression to the ACS CCN1 assessments to become Gas Safe registered. Undertaking work experience (with a Gas Safe registered operative) is an essential part of the course. This ensures that that onsite experience coupled with the college training enables you to take the Core Gas Safety assessment (separate course) and become Gas Safe registered.
This programme is for those currently working in the central heating and gas industry, or candidates who are looking to progress into a plumbing, central heating and gas career, the awarding organisation BPEC (British Plumbing Employers Council) has a mandatory requirement of working alongside a qualified and registered Gas safe Engineer. You will also need to be able to study at level 2/3 due to the technical discipline of the course. Being able to read and digest technical texts is a key part of the learning programme.
You will answer questions on units that will be assessed by the tutor and there is a final assessment paper part of the core gas safety assessment and appliances practical assessment.

This is a full-cost course. There is no fee remission available and you cannot apply for an advanced learner loan to pay for your fees.

You will be contacted by a member of the plumbing and gas team to attend as required, or you will be sent conditional date offers according to your requirements, and availability of the course. You will then be invited to enrol for your chosen course training. For enrol and pay courses: Once you have decided to take the course, you need to fill in a short learner details form online and pay the course fee. Once you have done this, you will receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment and payment.
