Student involvement

When you enrol at Leicester College, you become part of the community which encourages student involvement. You’ll have the chance to have your views heard not just in the Student Union (which is independent of the College, and affiliated with the National Union of Students), but in the day-to-day running of things here, too.

Learners elect representatives for their courses who attend steering group and other meetings. At these meetings, the course reps have the chance to put forward learners’ views and then report back.

You will also have the chance to offer honest, anonymous feedback on everything from the quality of teaching to the facilities on offer. One way we have of gathering this information is through the National Student Survey (NSS), which creates a national ranking of universities and colleges. We’re especially proud of our ranking in the NSS survey – in 2016, we were ranked joint fifth nationally of all universities and colleges in the UK for student satisfaction. We also run internal satisfaction surveys to get a wider range of opinions from learners at different levels.

We take on board what you say about and to us in order to make improvements. At Leicester College, your voice matters.
