The need for specialist careers advice and guidance has never been so important. It is vital that people of all ages have access to good quality, realistic and impartial information, advice and guidance about the full range of career pathways available to them.

The Leicester College Careers Service consists of a team of qualified career guidance professionals who are dedicated to helping people to progress successfully into education, employment or training.

Our vision is to provide an all age careers service that is empowering, meaningful and inspiring. We aim to encourage our clients to fully develop their potential in order to achieve satisfying and rewarding futures.

Mission

Our mission is to make the Careers Service fully accessible to Leicester College learners as well as the wider community by providing impartial information, advice and guidance that is fully integrated, accessible and highly regarded. We aim to encourage successful transition into further study, training or employment.

OFSTED is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills.

Following a recent OFSTED inspection of Leicester College, the Careers Service was highlighted for providing an effective service:

  • Specialist careers advisers provide good, impartial advice and guidance on careers and course options to prospective and current learners. (March 2016)
  • Learners on level 3 courses wishing to progress to higher education receive good support and guidance to help them choose and apply for a degree course. As a result, a high proportion of these learners are successful in securing a university place. (March 2016)
