The numbers all add up
Chelsea Nicholson is studying for her Business and Finance BTEC Level 3 at Leicester College.
“I wanted to either do Business and Finance or Business and Law, but I knew that I wanted to go into accountancy as I love working with numbers, so that’s why I went ahead with Business and Finance,” says Chelsea.
“I went to visit Leicester College on an open day to find out more about what the College had to offer and to check out the facilities. The staff were extremely welcoming compared to other colleges I went to, and I was surprised to find out how many activities they offer outside of the course.
Opening up a range of opportunities
Chelsea continues: “I thoroughly enjoyed the accountancy aspect of the course as well as the business section, where I was able to create my own event and have a cake sale fundraiser.
“After they came into the College as a guest speaker, I started my work experience at Cottons, an accountancy firm in Market Harborough. During my career, I hope to progress to a senior position and specialise in the industry.
“If you have an interest in Business and Finance, I would say that Leicester College is for you! With a strong foundation of understanding, you’re getting the same learning experience and knowledge as other courses, but better because of the blend of theory and practical work. The College opens up a range of work opportunities.”
