Limited re-opening of Leicester College from Wednesday 24 June 2020

Content

As part of a phased return and in line with official public health guidelines, Leicester College is planning to re-open from 24 June 2020, in a very limited capacity, for students and staff. In the first phase, the College will be open to students and apprentices who are required to complete a practical or written assessment, under strict conditions. Any student who is invited to attend the College and believes that they are vulnerable because of a health condition or other personal circumstance should contact the College to discuss their individual situation.

In addition, we will offer provision for a very small number of students who are vulnerable as a result of safeguarding issues. We will contact these students directly.

Only students and apprentices invited into College should attend on the days and at the times instructed.

The majority of staff will continue to work from home. Only staff who are needed to manage, support and deliver assessments, or who have essential work to undertake in support areas which cannot be done from home, will be expected to come into College.

The College has carried out a deep clean of all buildings, installed screens at visitor/information desks and hand sanitisers around campuses, with one-way systems being created to allow for social distancing. Classrooms have been assessed and capacity in rooms has been reduced to ensure appropriate social distancing measures. Refectories will not be open during Phase 1.
