Leicester College has announced a new, in-person Get The Job employability event that will help adults aged 19+ to get back into work. The event will consist of an employability fair with experts from Leicester College providing advice and guidance on job searching, interview skills, recruitment practices, employment advice and details of the programmes available to support people back into work.

The event will take place from 11am to 1pm on 5 August 2021 at the City Skills Centre on Charles Street in Leicester. The aim is to help people to gain the confidence to get back into work if they have been unemployed and looking for work, potentially losing their job and worried what to do next, or a career change.

People can sign up to reserve a time slot by clicking here.

The Get The Job event will enable people to get information and to enrol on a range of courses at Leicester College including:

  • Apprenticeships

  • Access to Higher Education

  • Distance and Community Learning

  • ESOL

  • GCSE for Adults

  • Higher Education

  • Skills for Work

  • Support Services – Mental Health

Ian Lewis, City Skills Centre Manager at Leicester College, said: “The jobs market is particularly turbulent as we look to transition out of lockdown restrictions so we’re keen to provide a focus on employability and how the College can support adult learners.

“Our Get The Job event will provide people with access to experts who can help with any questions about getting back to work through recruitment or further education.”
