All Leicester College campuses and buildings will be closed to students and visitors from 5pm on Friday 20 March 2020 until further notice in line with government advice. The government has confirmed that there will be no exams this summer. All exams are cancelled.
Stay home, protect our NHS, save lives.
To reduce the spread of the infection the government has introduced three important new measures in order to reduce the day-to-day contact with other people:
- Requiring people to stay at home, except for very limited purposes
- Closing non-essential shops and community spaces
- Stopping all gatherings of more than two people in public
Every citizen must comply to the new measures and authories including the police, will be given the powers to enforce them which will include fines and dispersing gatherings.
These measures were announced by the Prime Minister on 23 March 2020 and has said these are in place for three weeks and it will be reviewed after this point. Read more detail on the government website here.
