BTEC first, level 1 and 2 results delayed

We have been advised by the Association of Colleges (AoC) not to issue any BTEC results, so we will not be sending results to students on Thursday 20 August 2020.

We were notified by Pearson – the organisation which manages and awards BTEC qualifications – late Wednesday 19 August about changes to the way in which BTEC grades will be calculated. This will bring them in line with the grading principles set out by Ofqual for A level and GCSE qualifications.

This means that the Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs) we submitted to Pearson for all parts of your BTEC qualification will now be used to determine the result you receive. CAGs are the grade that your teachers believe you would have achieved if you had sat the exams. These have been moderated by the exam boards to ensure the same standard is applied to all students across all schools and colleges. You will now be awarded either a CAG or the exam boards moderated grade, whichever is higher.

We are very sorry that we are unable to send your results to you and realise how disappointing this is. Pearson is working urgently to reissue your grades to us, but until we receive this information we cannot tell you what your result is.

If you are moving on to a new course with us, the offer you received is still valid and you should re-enrol as instructed.

If you are moving on from Leicester College then you should contact the college you have applied to discuss how they are managing applications and enrolment now.

If you require careers advice or guidance you can book an appointment online

As soon as we have more information we will share this with affected students by email and on our website.
