One nation, all faiths.
Whilst 2020 has produced unforeseen changes in physical events, we are, as ever, committed to paying our respects to those of all faiths and none, in honour of Remembrance Day.
On Wednesday 11 November 2020, we will be hosting a unique online broadcast, featuring contributions from staff and students across the College, in dedication to all of those who fought and sadly lost their lives in the First World War.
This virtual event will feature poetry readings, stories, prayers and personal accounts to commemorate the occasion, as well as the opportunity for students or families of students, to contribute their own words to be broadcast during the event.
The running order will be as follows:
Opening address – Ian Everitt [Leicester College]
The importance of Remembrance – Tom Wilson [Leicester College Governor]
TBC – Selena Carty [Black Poppy Rose]
Poetry reading: The Soldier by Rupert Brooke – Abrar Mova [Leicester College Student’s Union]
Poetry reading: For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon – Nasreen Mohamad [Leicester College Student’s Union]
The Last Post
2 minutes silence
Please join us in paying our respects through this virtual ceremony on the Leicester College Facebook and Youtube pages on the morning of 11/11/2020.
