The Creative Shed at Leicester College will give years 9 and 10, and 12 and 13 the opportunity, across two separate sessions, to explore the creative industries and learn about creative processes from responding to a brief – which will be set by a commercial agency – concept and planning, through production to final publication. These ‘hands on’ workshops will give students an insight into studying these subjects at University and the careers they can lead to.
Students will have the opportunity to discover about:
- Graphics and web design
- Photography and video
- Fashion and footwear design
- Dance, acting and musical theatre
- Technical theatre production
- Artistic make up and special effects
- Music technology
- Performing musicians.
As well as learning about the creative industries, students will find out about alternative routes to an Honours Degree and the financial support available while in higher education.
We are hosting a morning session from 9.30am to 12.30pm for years 9 and 10, and an afternoon session from 1.30 to 4.30pm for years 12 and 13.
Attendance at this event is by invite only for city schools.
