Course: BTEC Level 2 Performing Arts (Acting and Dance)

After leaving Leicester College Anesu Mutara spent some time brainstorming his future and deciding what to do next. He knew he wanted to immerse himself into the performing arts world and took it upon himself to expand his skills in acting, dance and music.

“I would spend time at the recording studio, taking vocal lessons and plenty of dance rehearsals.”
Anesu was also a keen sportsman playing football for his local club and he spent time with football academies such as Birmingham City, Burton Albion & Cardiff City Academy.
After some deliberation he decided to take the plunge and head out to Los Angeles. Anesu currently lives in Hollywood, LA.

“With help and support of my family, putting in a lot of time, hard work and being dedicated to my craft. I was able to secure a place at the ‘Art of Acting Studio: Stella Adler’ completing a two year Professional Conservatory in acting.”

Anesu secured some great agents while out in LA and landed one of his biggest roles featuring in an Apple product commercial that is airing worldwide on TV, Online and various other media.

“My agent sent me details for an audition for a project that was only referred to by code name (this is normal for big projects). It was exciting not knowing what it was for and I decided to give it my all.
“A few weeks later I got a call back and then got the call that I had got the job!”

Anesu only discovered while signing the contract that it was a job for Apple.

Since then Anesu has bagged himself roles on TV shows/movies which are due for release in the next couple of months on American TV. A super exciting opportunity working on a commercial for NBA, this is out now, and the list of exciting opportunities continue.

Alongside his acting career Anesu is also still pursuing his music career.

“I am working with some amazing artists/songwriters in the USA, as well as releasing independent music by myself. I have started to get vocal coaching by Nick Cooper who has worked with Beyonce, Ciara, Zendaya, Nicki Minaj and more.”
Anesu has many projects on the go many of which he can’t talk about at the moment, but watch this space…
