Missed the UCAS deadline but still want to go on to Higher Education

Content

At Leicester College it’s not too late to apply to continue your studies next year or get back into higher education, even if you’ve not applied through UCAS yet. You can still register and apply with UCAS and make an application to study with us.

We offer a range of higher educations qualifications, in subjects including art, design and graphics; video and photography; and fashion and footwear, to built environment and construction; engineering; travel and tourism; and health and social care, as well as business; computing; performing arts; and music and sound technology.

Our teaching staff are all industry experienced, and our undergraduate courses have significantly lower fees than most universities. For courses starting in 2018 fees are £6,165 a year – many universities charge £9,250. And you can, of course, apply for a student loan to cover the cost of the fees, as well as a maintenance loan to cover your living costs. You don’t have to start repaying until you are earning at least £25,000 a year. If you are a parent with children under 15 and studying full time you may also be eligible for a childcare grant and parents’ learning allowance.

Class sizes at Leicester College are deliberately smaller than you will find in many universities and full-time hours range from 12 to 15 per week. This ensures that you receive more quality one-to-one time with your lecturers. And we are a proud winner of a TEF Gold award for excellence in teaching in higher education.

If you’re unsure about continuing your studies or returning to education next academic year our friendly careers advisors offer free and impartial advice, and can help to support you in your next steps.
