BTEC Results Day 2020 - Leicester College Student Success Stories
13 August 2020
In the year where schools closed, classrooms went virtual and pyjamas became the new uniform, our students have managed to achieve incredible results in their level 3 BTEC courses.
At Leicester College, we teach students of all ages and aim to inspire them to expand their knowledge and open up opportunities for them after leaving us. Our students continuously achieve amazing results year after year and we'd like to share some of our success stories.
All BTEC level 3 results have been sent by email on 13/08/2020 from 8 am. You will also receive your results in the post in due course.
Leicester College BTEC Success Stories 2020
Samah aged 28
Samah has achieved an incredible result of Distinction* in her BTEC Sport and Exercise Science Foundation Diploma, all whilst balancing life as a mum and a student.
Samah said, "I made a decision to study a sports course at Leicester College, and it was the best decision that I ever took." "I was guided, supported and motivated throughout the course by our tutors, they were all friendly and supportive. All of the facilities assisted me to succeed in my course, beginning with sports facilities, laboratory, library and nursery." "I am so blessed that I got to study at Leicester College and as a mum, I'm also so thankful and grateful for the support and the advice that I was able to get from the College with my childcare."
Krisztina aged 19
Krisztina is going to achieve big goals in her career after securing her place at the University of Oxford following a Distinction* grade in level 3 Extended Diploma for Performing Musicians.
Krisztina course opened her eyes to more opportunities, "I was introduced to the different sides of music and I've realised that I'm actually interested in music theory, music history and other things like music psychology and ethnomusicology. This, of course, will be invaluable throughout my career as I'll be able to do what I actually love." The college has a wide range of facilities and support for students to use beyond their studies, "I spent all of my off days going into college anyway to work on personal projects like my YouTube channel or on assignments where I needed to use Logic, Ableton or instruments. I even recorded some personal songs that weren't for any assignment as the college let me use their professional studio equipment."
Kinnary aged 17
Kinnary joined us on an IT BTEC 90 Credit Diploma level 3 course and has now achieved double Distinction*. With this, she plans to continue her studies and progress onto higher education.
Kinnary said "I think that the course I have picked might provide great opportunities as around us, the usage of computers and technology have increased which opens more employment opportunities for me." Commenting on how Leicester College has helped her studies, "The best part about the course is that there are varieties of units which provide different understanding about computers/technology and whilst being a student of Leicester College, I have experienced great teachers, friendly classmates and good surroundings."
Daisie aged 17
Upon completing her level 3 Public Services course with an amazing double Distinction grade, Daisie will continue to study and complete the extended diploma with us in September 2020.
Daisie said, "one of the best parts about the course is that the teachers have been in public service and therefore have hands-on knowledge and experience which they add into their lessons." And whilst she's not too sure about what service she would like to join she said "I have really enjoyed all of the different services that have been into college to talk about their roles and their service. This has made me realise how many options there are after completing my course." "Leicester College, as a whole, has really good support for students as if we need to, we can go and talk to someone if something is troubling us, but also if we need careers advice, we can book in to speak to the career advisor which I think is very good."
