Chloe Bakewell’s interest in childcare goes back to her days at school when, in Year 6, she helped out in the nursery attached to her school.
She applied for the Level 2 Childcare course at Leicester College and her previous experience is obviously helping out as she’s doing really well on her course.
Chloe says: “I’m enjoying the coursework and it helps that you can write it in your own way. I’ve also gained some valuable work experience at a local nursery.
“I’m looking to go on to the Health and Social Level 3 course at Leicester College and in the future, work with special needs children.”
‘Overjoyed’ at student governor vote win
During her course, it was suggested to Chloe that she run for Student Governor. “I thought about it before I put myself forward and was overjoyed when I was voted in by the other students.
“I’ve been inspired by the new role. We’ve been focusing on issues such as attendance, student welfare and more. It’s helped me to understand more about taking responsibility in your work life, how busy the staff are with course work and how the College works.”
