Leicester College Adult Learner Awards 2016

Leicester College hosted its 25th Adult Learner Awards on Wednesday 15 June 2016.

Adult learners were nominated for awards which recognised their efforts and successes during the year. The awards included: the Access to Higher Education Award, Apprenticeship Award, Community Learning Award, Higher Education Award and Vocational Award.

Suzana Lezaj

Suzana Lezaj, Foundation Degree learner in Fashion and Footwear, took away the title of Adult Learner of the Year 2016 in recognition of her hard work and commitment.

Suzana said:

“I am overwhelmed and totally shocked that I won the overall award. I dedicate the award to the fantastic teaching team within Fashion and Footwear, they really supported and helped me on my educational journey.”

Jules Dawsen, Programme Lead in Footwear said:

“Suzana always remained gracious and thankful for the opportunity to learn at the College. She showed determination to succeed and the willingness to achieve her goals. It was an absolute pleasure teaching Suzana and I wish her all the best for the future.”

Suzana is going on to studying a degree in Creative Industries next year.

It was fantastic to see our adult learners make such a commitment to education in order to achieve their goals. Many of these learners are juggling multiple commitments and have overcome significant barriers in order to continue with their education. Well done.”
