This sector-based work academy programme (SWAP) is for anyone (19+) who is interested in working for the Leicester City Council as a Neighbourhood Improvement Operative on a 30 hour, 12 month fixed term contract. The job role includes physical work in all weathers improving public areas in Leicester and are linked to Leicester City Council Housing Department. The programme is made up of: 1. pre-employment training – matched to the Neighbourhood Improvement Operative position. 2. work experience placement with Leicester City Council – a great opportunity for you to demonstrate you’re the right person for the post. 3. a guaranteed job interview, subject to successful completion of the training and work experience. The City Council is looking to recruit 10 Neighbourhood Improvement Operatives on a 30 hour, 12 month fixed term contract. This is an amazing opportunity for anyone with or without previous experience. This programme is only available from Leicester College and applicants must apply via Job Centre. Applications from all genders are welcome. Excellent time keeping skills are essential for this opportunity. You must be committed to complete the whole programme, Monday – Friday (9 am – 4 pm).
