CONGLP1 Reassessment Changeover Assessment Certificate – C0395

This course is an individual element assessment to enhance gas engineers’ portfolios of qualifications, which may help to increase work opportunities. CONGLP1 is designed for practising gas engineers who are employed or self employed who wish to install, service and maintain domestic cookers. There is a half-day assessment that is a combination of theory knowledge and practical skills.

This is a full cost course. There is no fee remission available and you cannot apply for an advanced learner loan to pay for your fees.

Year 1

You will refresh your knowledge in the following areas: cylinder location; safety requirements; sizing for single controls; LPG supply pressure; operation of and positioning emergency isolation; flow controls and valves; gas emergency actions and procedures; installation of pipe work and fittings; tightness testing; system pressure check; regulators; under pressure and over pressure valves; and ventilation requirements. There will be a multiple choice and practical assessment to successfully complete the course.

Candidates need to hold a current or expired (date of expiration to be within the last 12 months) CONGLP and a current CCN1 qualification. LPG training is also available on our course C0394 CONGLP1 – training.

You will be assessed against national recognised standards in a controlled environment. You will be allocated your own assessment bay and all reading material required for your assessment. The reading material will predominantly be British Standards. These documents will support you in enabling you to reference them whilst your assessor oversees your gas safety assessment.

If you are 24 or over and don’t already have a full level 3 qualification (2 A levels or equivalent) there will be no course fees for this course. Simply apply by clicking apply now at the top of the page

Extending gas safe registration to include LPG is the normal progression for professionals completing their re-assessment programme. Other elements can also be undertaken to enable a wider range of work to be undertaken by operatives when completing these extra assessments. Liquid petroleum gas is a popular element as it neatly aligns with natural gas and increases the scope of work a engineer can offer.

Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.
