Course Overview

The Water Regulations is a qualification that develops learning understanding and knowledge of the mandatory installation requirements for cold water systems in England and Wales. A course which enables participants to meet the entry criteria for the Water Regulations Approved Contractors Scheme that is run by your local water undertaker.

This is a full cost course. There is no fee remission available and you cannot apply for an advanced learner loan to pay for your fees.

What You'll Learn

Year 1

Assessment is in three parts: written – open-book multiple choice question paper, written – closed-book multiple choice question paper, practical – visual inspection. Prior to attending for a half day training and a half day assessment candidates will be provided with a training manual. Pre reading of the training manual will greatly enhance learners enjoyment of the learning programme.

Entry Requirements

No specific qualifications are required for undertaking this certificated course however applicants must be able to demonstrate appropriate experience and competency of working as a plumber.

How you will be assessed

You will be assessed against national recognised standards in a controlled environment. The assessment will consist of one paper based exam that is open book.

The construction industry is increasingly looking for operatives that have a wide range of qualifications as opposed to just a basic NVQ L2. These short course qualifications are a recognised route to increasing your qualification portfolio.

What Happens Next

Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.

For enrol and pay courses: Once you have decided to take the course, you need to fill in a short learner details form online and pay the course fee. Once you have done this, you will receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment and payment.
