What You'll Learn

Year 1

You will be tested on your knowledge and understanding of gas cooking appliances. This assessment will take place in controlled conditions. The College has a BPEC-accredited assessment centre working to nationally recognised standards. All learning will have taken place whilst you are working in industry or have taken a retraining programme.

Entry Requirements

You will need to have completed a BPEC Gas Foundation programme. Evidence of completion should be presented in portfolio with on-site evidence and in-College evidence combined to meet all mandatory requirements.

How you will be assessed

You will be assessed against national recognised standards in a controlled environment. You will be allocated your own assessment bay and all reading material required for your assessment. The reading material will predominantly be British Standards. These documents will support you in enabling you to reference them whilst your assessor, oversees your core gas safety assessment.

Course and Career progression

Candidates on completion of their initial assessment should look toward completing further training in appliances (this maybe manufacturer specific). Ariston work with the College and provide one-day training onsite at FPC. The essential gas elements are also offered in College such as ACS elements, combination boiler courses, Part P, water regulations, and unvented training. A suite of such qualifications will usually lead to an employed position and eventually possible self employment.

What Happens Next

Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.

For enrol and pay courses: Once you have decided to take the course, you need to fill in a short learner details form online and pay the course fee. Once you have done this, you will receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment and payment.
