This year, Martin Traynor OBE, Chief Executive of the Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce will be presented with an honorary Award for his outstanding contribution to Leicester College.

In addition Martin has publicly endorsed Leicester College’s Apprenticeship Training Agency and has been a champion and ambassador for the College in many ways.

Martin said: “I am absolutely delighted and deeply honoured to accept this special award from Leicester College. Over the past fourteen years I have had the pleasure of working with Leicester College on a number of different initiatives to support both learners and the local business community.

“In my experience this has always been a very productive relationship where the College has made, and continues to make, a real contribution to providing the area with a skilled workforce fit for the 21st century.

Verity Hancock, Principal at Leicester College, said: “We are delighted to be presenting this year’s Leicester College Honorary Award to Martin Traynor.

“Martin is an expert on the local business community and has supported Leicester College over many years. Throughout our relationship with him, Martin has shown a keen appreciation of the links between education and business and of the importance of skills acquisition and development to the success of the local area. We are very grateful to him for his commitment and support.

“Our HE Graduation is the ideal event to acknowledge his involvement with the College, as well as to celebrate our learners hard work and commitment to their chosen studies.

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all our graduates and wish them every success for the future.”
