Once you have chosen your selected course, you will need to:
Complete an Application Form
You MUST send us the following:
- A completed application form
- Copies of your educational certificates (international qualifications must be translated and certified in English by an authorised translator)
- A copy of your passport (including your current visa if you are already in the UK)
- A copy of your approved English Language test. The level of English language required will depend on the course that you are applying for. Generally you will require a minimum of IELTS 5.5 to enrol on most Leicester College programmes and 5.0 for International Foundation Programmes.
You may also send us relevant documents, e.g. letters of recommendation, certificates etc, from your school or employer supporting your application. These should be in English.
Note on English Language competency:
Your language test result for Tier 4 visa purposes must be at least B1 Level on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), which equates to IELTS 4.0 (but may be higher depending on the course). However, your language test result must be at CEFR B2 Level (IELTS 5.5) or above to be offered a place and to enrol on Leicester College programmes. For more information on English language requirements regarding your visa, please see https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa.
For Art and Design, Artistic Make-up, Fashion; Media and Performing Arts courses:
You must also provide appropriate evidence of your work, such as portfolios or videos / recordings for media and performing arts.
If your application is successful
Congratulations! We look forward to you joining us here at Leicester College. You will receive a Conditional Offer letter, a Financial Guarantee form and a Reply Slip.
To confirm your acceptance, you must complete the Reply Slip and the Financial Guarantee form, and send this to us along with the minimum deposit of £1,500. Any remainder is payable at or before enrolment.
Once these conditions are met we will apply to the UK Visas and Immigration for your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number. This will be sent to you by post or email.
If your initial offer sets out any additional conditions, you will need to wait until you have satisfied the conditions specified in your offer letter before you can confirm your acceptance and apply for your CAS.
You will then need to apply for your UK visa and we recommend you submit your application three (3) months before your course starts. Note: you cannot submit your visa application more than six (6) months before your course starts.
If you have any questions about applying for your course please contact the International Office by email firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone +44 (0)116 224 4111.
