LSF 16-18 years application form

You must submit a new claim to the Learner Support Fund each year, even if you are an existing student and have claimed previously. The Fund is allocated on a first come, first served basis so late applications may be reduced or rejected.

We will not be able to fully process your Learner Support Fund application unless we have ALL of the information outlined below. You can attach them at the end of the form. You can scan or photography documents.

We receive a large number of applications. We are working through these as quickly as we can and aim to award material fees to all successful application prior to enrolment, so that you do not have to pay these fees when you enrol.

We aim to write to people before enrolment starts to provide an update about their applications.

Your parent(s)/carer(s) are in work and their annual income is less than £30,000, please provide

  • P60 AND
  • Tax Credit Award Notice or review notice

Or if they are self-employed

  • Their annual accounts ending or SA302 AND
  • Tax Credit Award Notice

Your parent(s)/carer(s) are NOT in work, please provide evidence of

  • Jobs Seekers’ Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Universal Credit


  • Recent benefit letter AND
  • Recent bank statements AND
  • Tax Credit Award Notice
